Mobile Medical Client
About The Project
Stapro are a leading provider of healthcare information system, supplying more than 200 hospitals and 450 laboratories across Europe. Stapro is privately owned and registered in Pardubice in the Czech Republic.
Despite being a market leader, their existing FONS Enterprise healthcare information system lacked the mobility needed to ensure they stayed at the forefront of their marketplace.
Having successfully delivered a number of previous contracts for Stapro, tsium were approached to develop a new responsive mobile front-end application that would integrate seamlessly into their flagship FONS Enterprise medical record delivery system.
The Solution
The team developed a secure browser-based application using .NET MVC which allows authorised doctors, nurses, and administration staff access to patients records as they travel around the hospital. Certain staff are allowed to make notes, take and store photographs, and prescribe medicine based on their authorisation level.
The application was built by working very closely with the stakeholders, tailoring the look and feel to the designs provided by an external design agency and basing the functionality on the existing FONS Enterprise system.
The outcome is a modern application which runs in the browser on multiple devices and screen resolutions yet feels like a native app. It connects to custom API endpoints which allow the mobile application to work across product versions and even across different products depending on the solution installed at the facility.
As it is provided to such a large number of clients it is also appropriately customisable for their wants, needs and desires.

Key Outcomes
Technologies
- Developed using ASP.NET MVC.
- The user-experience was achieved using JQuery and Bootstrap.
Highlights
- It is written to emulate working with native apps in iOS and Android, yet it runs within the native browsers.
- It enables secure access to read and update patient information based upon the users authorisation levels, integrating to and communicating with the existing back end hospital information system.
- It allows the user to take and store photographs and voice recordings as well as written notes, and stores them against the patients records.
- It allows doctors to prescribe or change medicines and immediate record they have done so.
- It is very intuitive and has dedicated screens to access key information, daily reporting, operation history, laboratory test results, medication history, personal information, and any other documents stored against the patients record.
- Because we design systems with change in mind, we completed the project on time despite ongoing changes. Change happens so we always plan for such an eventuality.
Duration
- 6 months.
